Pleural mesothelioma
Pleural Mesothelioma
is a rare form of cancer that starts in cells of the pleura, the lung surface.
This is another condition
of lung cancer.
The lungs are
located in the chest on either side of the heart. The lungs and the inside of
the chest are covered with a thin membrane called the pleura. These two membranes are
separated by a space (pleural cavity) and a small amount of fluid (pleural
fluid) that facilitate changes in lung volume during breathing. Lesions affecting the pleura
or pleural fluid cause breathing difficulties.
